Welcome to GPA - Richmond! We need caring people just like you to help us place Retired Racing Greyhounds. Whether it be fostering, fundraising or helping out at our Meet and Greets the greyhounds desperately need you. GPA - R is located in Richmond, Virginia but we have volunteers in many surrounding counties.

We would love to have more Foster Families so more of these beautiful dogs can make it out of the track kennels and into a home atmosphere to begin a new life. Our greyhounds do not stay in kennels once they come to GPA - R. Once in a foster home, these dogs have a better chance of being adopted and staying with their Forever Families. Everything to foster a greyhound is provided for you, all you need to provide is a patient, loving home!

As a foster family you will provide the training your foster dog needs for the transition from life at the track to a cushie home life. Please read one or all of these greyt books .. Branigan, **Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummies** by Lee Livingood to see if fostering is something you might like to try.

If you already own a greyhound, or even if you don't and would like to become a volunteer, we would love to have you join our team. We will take the time to educate you in caring for a Greyhound.

WAYS TO HELP

-WE ARE IN NEED OF OLD QUILTS FOR BEDDING FOR THE DOGS!

-We need volunteers to help in many areas including Fostering, fund raising, public relations, picking up and delivering dogs, following up on placements, etc.

-Make a donation. We will gladly accept donations of gift certificates, money, dog supplies (compressed rawhide, large beds, old quilts) and discounts on supplies, etc.
